Last year was my first year back training for a decade. The first year was all about getting fit enough to train properly. Along the way I picked up little niggles and injuries, which hindered training.
This year I have the aim to stay injury free which requires me to listen to my body and alter training accordingly. I have learnt from last years mistakes and I have revised sessions appropriately.
Last night hill session was a good one, however this morning I have a few new pains which are unlike the DOMS I was expecting (knees).
I believe this is due to running to fast on the last three reps in close to 0°C temperatures.
I have 5 weeks until I race indoors over 60m so I need to get inside if I want to start picking up the tempo.
I hope to run a PB in January and then I can get back into winter training for the summer season which I am aiming to peak at the British Masters athletics championships in August ….
