No marathon for me

Watched the start of the marathon and felt guilty for sitting on my butt while so many people are doing great things.
Only out for about 1hour .
Drive hard on the 60m sprints and as a result I fear I have a slight strain in my left hamstring.

I have had a busy week so really wanted to train but did not fancy running on my own so opted for a session at local track.
I warmed up well and was ready to go but no one else was. It was an hour of drills and warming up before the session started … In my opinion not everyone warmed up properly and that would explain why only 4of10 finished the session. I decided to wear trainers for the session as I want to protect my lower legs.
I did not push hard on the shortest reps as I did not want to injure myself, and I felt strong on the longer reps around other athletes wearing spikes. The recovery time between sets was far longer than I am used to so fitness was not an issue..
Asked the coach if she would be offended if I made the reps longer and she was more than happy.
Can’t wait for the warm weather so I can start speeding up…
The key is to be injury free.

Stopped at a junction after descending a fast and a car pulled up next to me wound down his window and said ” wow you were doing about 45mph that’s crazy.”
GPS said I was doing 42mph which is about 67.3kph

My first session running on this hill this year so I struggled to gauge my pacing but felt sick at end of session so as far as I’m concerned I worked hard enough.

Need to get back on track.

It was nice to do a quick session in, I am a little sore from the bounding . Hamstring tendons are tender. I’m looking forward to getting running again soon…

Well training is going well but if I’m honest my diet is terrible I have been eating anything and everything and it’s time to sort it out…

With it being Mother’s Day tomorrow I had to squeeze a session in today. Made the most of the sun so I decided to do some hills. Knees and shins a little sore so in going to rest until Thursday .
